Youth Ministry

Mission

“We desire to see students live on mission in their community, grow as disciples who make disciples, and well equipped to take the Gospel message to the ends of the earth.”

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” ~Matthew 28:18-20

Gather, Grow, and Go

We accomplish our mission by implementing “Gather, Grow, and Go.”

Gather

Creating safe and fun programs and events that help students reach their unsaved and unchurched friends with the gospel.

Gather times occur weekly with our BIG worship moments on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm with Oneighty. We provide food at 6p with worship and groups following and will end approximately 7:45p. Those events meet in the rear worship area that is located behind the sanctuary.

Grow

Facilitating gender and age-based small groups where we equip students to go deeper in the gospel as they become disciples who make disciples.

Our groups for equipping students occur during our Sunday evening, Oneighty worship. We also attend the Xtreme Winter Conference each December. This event provides a time away as a group to participate in a conference that is known for bringing in challenging speakers. We enjoy small group breakout sessions afterward in our cabin.

Go

Providing opportunities to send students locally, nationally, and internationally to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  • Locally – We partner with local ministries such as Young America Ministries and Y-Link to serve our community in Northwest Georgia.
  • Nationally– We participate in Merge Camp, just outside of Memphis, Tennessee. We eat, sleep, and participate in discipleship classes and worship times on the church campus of Millington First Baptist. We spend each afternoon of this week working in their neighborhoods, helping with various service projects, and meeting needs in their community.
  • Internationally– As a church, we partner with the Thompson Family, serving Christ and the people of Ecuador. We spend a week each year in July working with the mission team there. Our prayer is that every student, before they enter college, can experience this life-changing international mission trip.
