Position Structure and Level Position:
Food Service/Cook

Classification:
Part Time Hourly, non-exempt

Work Week:
Wednesdays / hours vary

Pay = $100 per meal/ $4,800 a year.

Position Summary:
This position shall primarily be responsible for the preparing and serving of meals, communicating food and housekeeping supply needs, properly storing and organizing food leftover from events, leadership for the kitchen volunteers and proper cleaning of all kitchen equipment.

Key Job Functions of Food Service Leadership:

  1. Make menus for Wednesday nights and communicate with the church Ministry Coordinator
  2. Shopping for groceries
  3. Preparing meals
  4. Conscious of costs
  5. Keeping up with the inventory of food and planning menus accordingly
  6. Ordering needed items, ie food, paper products, etc.
  7. Some washing and cleaning of kitchen equipment, pans, dishes, etc.
  8. On occasion prepare lunch for our senior’s group, Keenager’s. the second Tuesday of each month.

Specific Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Should have previous experience in food service or equivalent training

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, bend and twist
  • Ability to push and pull loads
  • Must be able to lift frequently up to 35 lbs.
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Auditory ability to hear and understand levels of sound in an ordinary office environment
